Following the example of the early church, as it pursued the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations, we pray that our diocese will begin to resemble the diversity of God’s kingdom, “a great multitude from every tribe, tongue, and nation worshipping God together” (Revelation 7:9). To that end, Bishop Alex Cameron formed a church planting working group, which explores possible church planting initiatives in the Diocese.
While church planting creates new congregations, it can also serve to revitalize and empower our existing churches. Church plants demonstrate our passion for reaching the lost and encourage innovative risk-taking for the gospel. We pray that, as we plant new churches, the DNA of more established congregations in our diocese will become infused with the desire to renew and strengthen our mission focus.
