Our Hope Is in the Lord

"Regardless of the outcome of any election, our hope in the end is always first and foremost in the Lord, not in political candidates or political parties or political solutions. Our hope remains in the sovereignty and the grace and the power of God. I was incredibly struck at how our lectionary served certainly me—and I hope serves all of us—as a reminder in the middle of this turbulent and divided season that God still is our buckler."

In the wake of the November 5 election, Bishop Alex finds in the Psalm appointed in the daily lectionary a word of comfort to those who are disappointed and a tempering reminder to those feeling excited or triumphant.
