Tyler was born and raised in Kittanning, just 45 minutes north of Pittsburgh. He attended university at IUP and in Nagoya, Japan, where he studied political science and international relations, and later prepared for Holy Orders with his wife Megan at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Hamilton, Massachusetts.

Since seminary, Tyler has served in both the Gulf Atlantic Diocese and the Diocese of Cascadia, having received his first call as the Charles Simeon curate at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Tallahassee, Florida, and most recently helping a revitalization and parish merging effort in Spokane, Washington, with St. Nicholas Anglican Mission and later Christ Our Peace Anglican Church.

Tyler’s earliest memories of encountering Jesus Christ are from weekends spent with his grandmother attending mass at Christ Prince of Peace RCC in Ford City, Pennsylvania, as a child. Captivated by liturgy, worship, and the work of the priests both inside and outside of mass, Tyler sensed from early childhood that he wanted to follow in their footsteps to love and serve the church. Despite spending many years outside of the life of faith, Tyler’s journey into Anglicanism, and now back home to the Pittsburgh area and to Grace, has been a rich and fulfilling process that has strengthened his love for other people, for the treasure of our Christian heritage, and for his Lord, Jesus Christ.

Some of Tyler’s hobbies include painting, power-lifting, hiking, tabletop games, live music, cooking, and all manner of random and unexpected adventures! Tyler and Megan are currently living in McKees Rocks and have two out-of-this-world children, Gwydion, 5, and Gwendolyn, 2.
