Our bishop, staff, and governing leaders are passionate about serving the clergy and congregations of our diocese, as well as connecting new Anglicans with resources to grow deeper in their faith.

Meet Our Bishop

The Rt. Rev. Alex Whitcomb Cameron was consecrated Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Pittsburgh on August 6, 2022, by the Most Rev. Dr. Foley Beach, Archbishop and Primate of the Anglican Church in North America. He has been an ordained Anglican priest for more than 30 years, serving churches in Canada and the United States. Most recently, he led the Isaiah Forty Foundation, which provides teaching, prayer, and coaching to those seeking healing and wholeness.

Alex has served as Canon for Church Planting and Leadership Development in the Anglican Diocese in New England, on their Standing Committee as a member and as chair, and as the chair of the Bishop’s Council in the Diocese of the Upper Midwest. He previously worked for General Electric and had his own consulting company. He holds a M.Div. from Wycliffe College in Toronto, and a B.A. from Dalhousie University in Halifax.

Alex and his wife Tamara have been married since 1987. They have four adult children and four grandchildren. He enjoys cycling, woodworking, and playing the double bass.

When asked about what the heart of his ministry has been over the years, Bishop Alex answered,

“It has been to remind people that the gospel is true–to remind people so that they don’t forget that Jesus is Lord and that He saves.”

The Rev. Canon Dr. Bill Henry

Canon to the Ordinary

As canon to the ordinary, Bill assists the bishop in the mission of the diocese, facilitating the bishop’s work as senior pastor and diocesan CEO and functioning as COO. Bill was previously senior associate rector at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church in Sewickley, PA, where he served for seventeen years. He is a native of western Pennsylvania, attended Quaker Valley High School, and was confirmed at St. Stephen’s. His wife of 32 years, Dana, is a licensed professional counselor, and together they have led marriage retreats for the diocese and for churches around the country. They have three grown children (Wilson, Annie, and Charlie) and two grandchildren (Beau and Bella). Bill is a graduate of Trinity School for Ministry (M.Div. 1998, D.Min. 2018), and he and Dana served at churches in Florida and South Carolina before returning to St. Stephen’s in 2006.

Sarah Kwolek

Director of Administration & Diocesan Treasurer

Sarah manages the administrative operations, budget, and staff of the diocesan office. She previously served the Diocese as director of stewardship and partnership, has held numerous development and administrative roles in the corporate and non-profit sectors, and has volunteered throughout her life in the administration of various congregations. She exhibits a deep commitment to collaborating with partners across the Diocese to further its mission and accomplish its work. Sarah holds a B.A. in psychology and religion from Emory University and a M.A. in missions and theology from Trinity Anglican Seminary. Sarah is married to Mark, a music teacher in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. They have three children, Micah, Jonathan, and Anna. Sarah and Mark both serve as worship leaders at Church of the Savior in Ambridge.

Stephanie Finn

Director of Communications

Stephanie manages the communications efforts of the diocesan office, which includes our branding, website, newsletter, social media, and other seasonal projects. She has a decade of experience in corporate communications, marketing, and event planning in DC and NYC, owned and managed two businesses in the Toronto area, and is thrilled to now be able to combine her faith and work. Outside her part-time position, she is married to the Rev. Dr. Leonard Finn (rector of All Saints Anglican Church and adjunct professor at Trinity Anglican Seminary), mother of two kids and three cats, and a ceramic artist. Stephanie holds a B.A. from New York University and a certificate in pastry arts from the French Culinary Institute. She met Jesus at the age of 20, a recent college graduate stumbling upon unsurpassable beauty in a local Episcopal church, and is passionate about helping churches reach the lonely and lost.

Christina Silva

Diocesan Executive Assistant

Christina manages our clergy paperwork, clearances, and events, as well as the bishop’s calendar, congregation visits, and travel arrangements. She also gets to help with big events like Convention and ordination services and host many meetings at the diocesan office. Christina is originally from Indianapolis, IN, ended up in Pittsburgh after living for 12 years in Burlington, VT. She has a B.S. in psychology and a master’s in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). Christina has previously worked professionally as Young Life mission staff and administrative staff, and as a K-12 licensed ESL teacher. She attends Church of the Ascension, where she has served in a variety of ministries including altar prayer, vestry, and as a teacher in the international ministry. Christina lives in the South Hills with her husband, Rodrigo, and two children, Sarah and Dan, and she enjoys creating beautiful things in her garden and with watercolors.

Jen Newhouse

Jen is our database administrator and supports our director of administration with various administrative and financial tasks. She can also be found helping wherever needed at diocesan events and around the office. Raised in western Pennsylvania, Jen attended schools in Charleroi, Indiana, and Brownsville. She has a B.S. in chemistry with an education related area from the University of Pittsburgh, and a diploma in Christian ministry from Trinity Anglican Seminary. She has worked at her local public library and as a chemist and chemistry teacher, in addition to many ministry roles, including directing some children’s programs. Jen has two kids with her husband, Eric, as well as three cats. Her family attends Church of the Ascension, where Jen serves in many roles, having recently served as a member of the vestry and a deputy to Convention.

The Rev. Andrew J. DeFusco

Standing Committee President

A Pittsburgh native, Andrew serves as rector at Church of the Redeemer, Nashville, TN. He previously served congregations in Pittsburgh and Butler, Pennsylvania, and the Los Angeles area of California. He is a graduate of Grove City College in Pennsylvania and earned his M.Div. at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, with an emphasis in worship, theology, and the arts. Amidst all his diverse interests, the gospel—what God accomplished in the cross and resurrection of Jesus—is his sole priority.

Kirk Botula

Board of Trustees President

Kirk is an early and growth stage operator and serial entrepreneur with a track record of building businesses from ideation, through launching and scaling to successful exits. He currently serves as the Chief Strategy Operations Officer at Innovation Works. Prior to this, he served as CEO and managing partner of Total Bank Solutions, CEO of CMMI Institute, president and COO of Confluence, and helped to launch Carnegie Innovations, a venture studio at Carnegie Mellon University. Kirk holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from the Tepper School of Business. He attends Grace Church, Mt. Washington, with his wife, MJ, and has served the Diocese as a member of Standing Committee and in a variety of other contexts.

The Rev. Eric M. Rodes

Diocesan Council President

Eric felt the pull of the Holy Spirit toward vocational ministry at age twelve, a calling that has never left him. Eric served ten years as an assistant pastor in a non-denominational Evangelical church. After being called to Anglicanism, he was ordained as deacon and priest in 2014. He served as assistant rector at Grace Anglican Church (Grove City) and became rector of The Anglican Parish of Christ the Redeemer (Canonsburg) in 2018. He has served six years on Diocesan Council (two as president), chaired the Bishop Search Committee, and served on the Array.

The Rev. Lauren Scharf

Chair of the Commission on Ministry

Lauren has joyfully served churches in western PA for the past 20 years. She currently serves as an interim staff priest at Church of the Ascension in Oakland. She is also a spiritual formation coach with the Isaiah Forty Foundation and a D.Min. candidate at Trinity Anglican Seminary with a research focus on the application of the practical principles of Alcoholics Anonymous in the life of the local church. She is passionate about holistic, gospel-centered discipleship that truly models Jesus’ freedom and shalom in an addicted and seemingly chaotic world. Lauren feels it is an absolute joy and honor to accompany potential ordinands on their journeys of discernment.

Delia Bouwers Bianchin, Esq.

Chancellor

Delia is Managing Partner of Outside Virtual Counsel, LLC, a boutique business law firm that represents small to medium size businesses in practical and complex corporate, commercial, employment, and litigation matters. She brings to her clients a depth of experience from both the large law firm context and as inside general counsel where she served for two decades. As the daughter of Dutch immigrants, Delia was instilled with the values of faith, education, and a dedication to community as bedrock principles. After graduating as the valedictorian from her high school, she attended Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where she completed a bachelor’s degree in English, followed by the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, where as a stand-out student and legal writer, was elected as Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Law and Commerce by her peers, while simultaneously working as a Research Editor on the University of Pittsburgh Law Review. Delia resides in Butler, Pennsylvania with her husband and their two children. She attends St. Peter’s Anglican Church, where she teaches Sunday School and leads the annual Christmas Pageant.
